Marietta has a BA in Art from Park University and has been drawing caricatures and fashion sketches since 2003.  She began at Worlds of Fun at just 15-years-old and left to do event work full-time after 8 years. Marietta has worked for some pretty big names, such as the KC Chiefs, Google, IKEA, Nike, Nascar, T-Mobile, and more! Her sole job is drawing caricatures at events - it is her career, hobby, and passion.  When you hire Marietta, you are hiring a seasoned professional with extensive experience that ensures your event will be a hit!

Standard Caricatures take about 3 minutes per face/20 people per hour, while Quick Caricatures take about 1 minute per face/50 people per hour.  Fashion Sketches take about 5 minutes per person/12 people per hour.  Digital caricatures take 6 minutes per face/10 people per hour.  Pet Caricatures take 4 minutes per face/15 pets per hour.  Time per person and guests served per hour may vary based on several factors. Marietta's rates have been verified through an external counting service, assuming a continuous line and quick guest movement. If guests come up one at a time, have many details, or if Marietta is not consistently busy, that can affect Marietta's rates. Please note that staff artist times may differ.  These rates only apply to Marietta; other artist speeds may vary but we only hire the very best!

Yes! Caricatures by Marietta, LLC has liability insurance through K&K Insurance Group, inc. We can produce a certificate upon request.  We also require all of our artists to maintain liability insurance, so you never have to worry about a thing!

In most cases, we just need two chairs, a small table, a 9x9 foot cleared space, and protection from the sun and rain if outdoors.  If you have ordered digital components, we also require an additional chair, a 6' table in place of the small table, electricity, close proximity to an outlet, and an indoor-only station. We find it's best if artists are stationed side-by-side at events to ensure guests know where we are!

Yes! Marietta has a number of Standard Caricature artists on roster given availability! We are able to staff multiple artists at one event or even multiple events in one timeframe, and we can even mix-and-match services. All artists bring their own supplies.  Paper sizing, styles, and drawing times may vary. 

Yes! Marietta has a roster of 50+ entertainers in the Kansas City area who can also work with her at your event. We have face painters, balloon twisters, airbrush tattoos, glitter tattoos, henna, magicians, and even Santa Claus - our staff can do it all!

No. Caricatures by Marietta is an event service dedicated to bringing you live art entertainment.  That being said, we're happy to do house calls! We've attended a number of dinner parties and holiday family gatherings where caricatures were the primary focus.  We're often far more economical than commissioning an artist - and we're fun during the process too!  And remember - Marietta is happy to travel nationwide!

Marietta personally draws at roughly 250-300 events every year! That's between 16,000 and 20,000 faces a year! We also have over 10 staff artists who draw at various events throughout the year alongside and separately from Marietta.

There aren't many types of events we haven't worked! We have experience with just about everything, from Quinceañeras to end of life celebrations and everything in between.  We're always more than happy to answer any questions and provide examples from a specific event type!

A 50% deposit and signed contract secure your date with the remainder due the week prior to your event!  This is all manageable via an online portal so you can book via your phone or computer for your convenience.

We can take card, check, bank transfer, wire transfer, Venmo, CashApp, or Paypal. Any checks should be made out to "Caricatures by Marietta". Please notify us if you plan to pay by check. We do not suggest cash or money orders, but can work with you on a case-by-case basis.

Deposits are refundable only in the event of cancellation by the performer. Deposits are not refundable in the event of cancellation by the client, including weather, but can be applied to another event within the next calendar year!

Balances are refundable until 24 hours prior to your event. Within 24 hours of your event, your remaining balance becomes non-refundable. In the event of cancelation, you may direct the paid amount to a rescheduling of the event within one calendar year, artist schedule permitting.
